Now look at how vincent was introduced.. he appears when asin is about to be molested and he saves her like draupadi. Vincent is the dalit diplomat, fights for land issue [soil issue to be exact] and dies from the metal rod striking his leg. Oh even five of vincent’s men are drugged at P. Vasu’s.. sounds familiar???

(Parasurama avatar - Christian Fletcher ) - Parasurama is actually on an angry killing spree and killed 21 generations of the particular kshatriya vamsa. Hence the real KILLER… Guess what thats what our Fletcher is! He comes around with the gun [modern upgrade for axe] and kills everyone around

( Vamana avatar - Kalifulla khan ) - Remember in vamana avatar, lord vishnu takes the vishvaroopa, that is the giant form! Hence the giant kalifulla here symbolises vamana avatar

(Narasimha avatar - Shingen Narahashi ) - first of all the name itself is a play on the words singam [means lion in tamil] and narasimha [the avatar being symbolised]. Lord Narasimha manifests himelf to kill the bad guy and he also teaches prahaladha. In the movie, he shows up to kill the killer fletcher! and is also a teacher.. Lord Narasimha had to kill the asura with bare hands and hence the martial arts exponent here..

(Varaha avatar - Krishnaveni paatti ) - In varaha avatar lord actually hides earth so as to protect life forms. Here too krishnaveni hides the germs - life form inside the statue so as to protect.

(Koorma avatar - Bush ) - The real koorma avatar, the lord is the turtle/tortoise that helps in stirring the ksheera sagara and bringing out the amruth. This essentially creates war among the devas and asuras. Similarly today Bush facilitates war between you know whom… May be Kamal also indicates that this avatar is a bit dumb like the tortoise…

(Macha Avthar - Nambi ) - nambi is thrown into water in an act of trying to save lord from being thrown into sea...

Dasavatharam box office run!

Kamal’s Dasavatharam movie has incredible box office run. In US at the end of third week dasavatharam movie has grossed incredible box office collection of $14,683,762. However the collection doesn’t include collection from North America also few places in India. People have now understood the story better after knowing the butterfly effect and chaos theory. In Chennai city alone the collection is grossed Rs 6.5 crores without including the suburban.

Dasavatharam - Movie Review

It has been a long wait for Kamal’s fans after Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu and the legend has not disappointed them. He has established emphatically that the wait is certainly a worthwhile one and has proved time and again that cinema is his lifeline.

The seventy crore magnum opus challenges Hollywood films and has even set up a benchmark for their films. Special kudos to producer Aascar Ravichandran for ably supporting the actor and the director in their pursuit of rendering a world class Tamil cinema - especially in the technical department.

The grandiose scenes spellbind the viewer and the crew has worked hard to sustain this feeling through out the film. The film opens with the camera zooming on Chennai from the ocean and gently stops at Chozha era when Saivites and Vaishnavites locked horns with each other.

Kamal’s performance, Ravi Varman’s cinematography, Devi Sri Prasad’s re-recording and Thanikachalan’s editing teleport the viewer to a different era which would take a long time for them to unravel, particularly the scene where the Saivite King orders the statue of Lord Ranganatha to be thrown into the sea and threatens the ardent Vaishnavite Kamal to utter Om Namashivaya just once. And when Kamal begins OM, the suspense is killing not only for the king but also the audience. Though the film begins with Chozha period, it subsequently moves to modern times, bringing with it adventure, high flying chases. etc

Kamal’s hard work and perseverance is palpable in every frame and in the different getups that he has essayed. An angry Vaishnava young man from Chozha period, US President George Bush, mentally unstable old woman, a Japanese Karate master, Punjabi ghazal singer, a dalit man fighting for justice, an American terrorist out to kill people, an eight feet innocent Muslim, an astute scientist, a Telugu secret service man speaking Tamil in a weird fashion- a variety indeed!.

Out of the ten Kamals, the dalit Boovaraghan stands out with his distinct style in dialogue delivery, eye movements and body language. Grandma Kamal is a reminder of Avvai Shanmugi while the secret service agent tries to tickle the funny bone in us, while in all the other Kamals, makeup alone can be talked about.

Asin as an Agraharam girl is a revelation and is almost on par with Kamal in performance. Mallika Sherawat has understood why she has been hired and accordingly does her part.

In the music department, the Tamil flavor is retained only in the Mukunda number while in the others, Himesh Reshammiah’s difficulty in unwrapping himself from Hindi clutches is discernible. K S Ravikumar’s directorial acumen is revealed in Ulaganayagane number where he has picturized Kamal’s make-up secrets.

Dasavatharam’s main forte is technical expertise, which the technicians have utilized without the viewer being aware of it. Top of the line technical excellence is perceptible in Tsunami scenes, car chasing shots, Chozha period sequences and the scene where all the Kamals come together. On the flipside, if the focus given to technical brilliance had been given to a stronger storyline and character portrayal, the film would have earned a perfect TEN.

All in all a colossal visual opulence at its peak for the first time in Indian cinema.

45 shows in single complex for DASAVATHARAM

Count down has begun for Dasavatharm movie release . Yes... Dasavatharam will hit the screens in June and there is a tough competition among the buyers. Official information revealed that Mayajaal complex near Chennai will be having 40 shows during the week days and 45 shows of Dasavatharam alone in weekends , this will be the first of its kind in Kollywood.Meanwhile, the excitement associated with the audio release of the film is reaching an all time high with new information flowing in every day. Audio will be released in a grand gala event at Nehru Indoor stadium and the MC of the function will be actress Shobana. Hollywood star Jackie Chan will be releasing the audio which will be received by Amitabh Bachchan. Honorable chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr.M.Karunanidhi will be the chief guest of this great function. Arrangements are done so as to let 5000 people to watch the function, which will include the trailer along with the filmmaking. The event will be attended by Indian tinsel town like Jaya Pradha, Hema Malini, Mallika Sherawat, Mammootty, Vijay and Asin in addition to many of the top brass of Kollywood.

Kamal in 'DASAVATHARAM' impresses Karunanidhi

The team showed the trailer of the movie to the chief minister Mr. M. Karunanidhi. He was very much impressed with Kamal Haasan's efforts and congratulated him with a hug and a kiss. And he asked Kamal Haasan, "Are all those people really you". Actor plays 10 different character and the story is not about one person in different guises. The story begins with an episode set in the 12th century,and then looks at coincidences. Kamal plays Nambi role Vaishnavite priest. Lyricist vaali lines 'Kallai matum paarthal kadavul theriyadu, kadavul mattum paarthal kalladi theriyadu...'. The other characters are an American, a Chinese man, a CBI officer from Andhra Pradesh, an old lady, a leader from Afghanistan, a scheduled Tribes leader, George Bush, a Punjabi and one character, who looks like Kamal normally does...
